"The Why not?" is a jersey created in memory of JB Charcot, a great French explorer and also a school rugby pioneer.
Passionate about the sea, JB Charcot built his first boat, «The why not 1», at only 26 yrs old. At 33, the young medcin graduate had also won 2 silver Olympic medals for sailing at the 1900 Olympics. On the rugby side, at 28 yrs. old, he founded the Olympique, nicknamed the "O" with a few players from the Racing team… The "O" became French champions a year later with this white jersey with an "O" embroidered on it and surrounded by the red wings of a wallkyries ! After his sporting successes, Charcot decided to turn his talents towards ocean exploration which led him to the artic regions. The 16th September 1936, after 12 hours of storms « The why not 4 " sank in the freezing waters off Iceland. The Captain of the "Why not 4" - ex rugby captain became a legend.
