Heavy jersey rugby Argentina 1965
History of the product
It was during a South African tour in 1965 that the Argentinians earned the nickname «Pumas».
Legend has it that a journalist called the Argentinian team by their symbolic animal but got it wrong and mistook a jaguar for a puma! Even though the spotted coat of a jaguar looks nothing like the all black coat of a puma, the journalist’s mistake stuck forever as the Argentinian’s nickname.
By the way, the tour was a success for the newly named «Pumas» who beat the «Junior Springbox» team for the first time. SPORTS d’EPOQUE has reproduced the Argentinian jersey of 1965. This jersey is proudly handmade in France.
