The history of the productIRELAND 1950
IN THE 1950S, IRELAND DOMINATED POST-WAR EUROPEAN RUGBY.
The team was led by its emblematic captain and hooker Karl Mullen and its incredible fly-half Jack Kyle, who was named "the Greatest Ever Irish Player" in 2002. Indeed, the XV of the Shamrock won three of the four Five Nations tourna-ments between 1948 and 1951, including a grand slam in 1948, the first in the history of the Irish. Only Wales managed to win in 1950, relega-ting Ireland to third place in the tournament. This period is considered to be the golden age of Irish rugby.
