The history of this shirt

product history image

The Summer Olympics were held in Paris, France from May 4th to July 27th in 1924.

Baron Pierre de Coubertin actively campaigned for the Paris bid for the 1924 games. It was their second games after the ones in 1900. (He decided to resign after these games).

It was at these games that the Olympic motto was introduced: « Citius, Altius, Fortius » (Faster, Higher, Stronger), as well as the tradition of raising three flags during the closing ceremony.

In 1924, 44 nations and 3,089 athletes (including 135 women) took part in 126 disciplines in 17 sports. The most famous athletes during these games were the French fencer Roger Ducret, the Finnish long-distance runner Paavo Nurmi and the Hungarian-Austrian swimmer Johnny Weissmuller.
