MANUREVA, ANCIENNEMENT PEN DUICK IV, EST UN TRIMARAN MYTHIQUE CONSTRUIT EN 1972 POUR ÉRIC TABARLY.

Ce voilier de 20 mètres, innovant et rapide, a marqué l’histoire de la course au large. Rebaptisé Manureva (« Oiseau de voyage » en tahitien) par Alain Colas, il devient en 1976 le premier trimaran à traverser l’Atlantique en solitaire.

En novembre 1978, le bateau et son skipper disparaissent tragiquement au large des Açores, laissant une empreinte indélébile dans le monde maritime. Symbole d’audace et d’aventure, Manure-va inspire même la célèbre chanson d’Alain Chamfort, perpétuant la légende d’une icône de la navigation et des risques qu’elle incarne.
