The history of the productILTC 1927
In 1927, the ‘Musketeers’ of French tennis, Jean Borotra, Jacques Brugnon, Henri Cochet and René Lacoste, hosted the formidable American team in the final of the world’s biggest individual tennis tournament. A brand new stadium was built near Porte d’Auteil in Paris for the occasion.
Led by champion Bill Tilden, the reigning American champions were considered invincible. And yet, driven by a spirit of camaraderie and unwavering determination, the Musketeers managed to pull off the feat of winning the legendary ‘salad bowl’ with flying colours.
More than just a sporting feat, this 1927 victory was a moment of national pride, the legacy of which still lives on in French sporting history and culture.
