History of the product
THE ORCHID MAN.
Georges Carpentier, is nicknamed "The Orchid Man" in reference to the flower the French used to wear on the back of their jackets, became the first French professional boxer to become world champion in 1920.
Georges Carpentier, hero of the First World War, resumed boxing in 1919. During his exceptional career, he achieved a total of 109 fights for 88 victories including 57 by knockout, 14 defeats and 6 draws, and accumulated several titles of World Champion and Europe.
The defeat of "The Orchid Man" against Dempsey helped create the legend. He showed exceptional courage in what the media called the century game. He lost his right hand in the second round, following a fracture it was unusable. Although he lost by knockout in the fourth recovery, this event earned the French a worldwide reputation.
His other controversial but indisputable defeat against the Franco-Senegalese Mbarick Fall known as the "Battling Siki" on September 24 1922, also marked the history of the champion and the sport.
