The history of this jersey

product history image

Here is the football shirt worn by the French national team in 1931 !

Notice the simply embroidered rooster, sober with a simple line, influenced by the Art Deco artistic movement of the time.

1931 marked the first victory for the French team versus a professional English team. This blue football shirt with the gallic Rooster on the chest was worn by Edmond Delfour in this match on the 14th May 1931. the match was won 5 to 2. This shirt is proudly made in France in partnership with the National Sports Museum. This was also the first time 2 teams exchanged shirts at the end of the match (with a silk under shirt for the English !) Original international football jerseys dating before 1940 are extremely rare. The only original of this jersey was acquired by the National Sports Museum at a Drouot auction in 2006.
