The year 1904 is rich with emotions for the budding French team.
After having suffered a series of hard losses against the English clubs at the start of the year, a proper team is selected to face the Belgians in Belgium. The 1st May is therefore the first ever official match for France. This international match is the first outside the British Isles, and the first with two continental teams. The match was very close and finished with a 3 to 3 score after the French equalized in the 87th minute!. This match also played a decisive role for the future of world football. Indeed, after meeting at this match, several managers decided to meet in Paris in the next few weeks to create the FIFA.
